Laminate Flooring
Laminate is a layered flooring product with a photographic image of wood or tile beneath a clear protective layer.
Why Choose Laminate?
Laminate flooring is a versatile, budget-friendly alternative to hardwood, known for its layered construction and tough wear layer. It uses a photographic layer to replicate the look of wood or stone, protected by a clear, scratch-resistant surface. Beneath that lies a dense fiberboard core, providing strength and stability. Laminate is a popular choice in living areas, hallways, and bedrooms due to its durability and attractive appearance.
It’s particularly appealing to homeowners who want the style of hardwood without the cost or maintenance. Many modern laminate floors feature embossed textures that closely resemble real wood grain. While traditional laminate isn’t waterproof, many newer versions are water-resistant, making them suitable for kitchens or even bathrooms. It’s easy to install using floating-floor systems, and it holds up well to foot traffic and daily wear. However, it can’t be refinished and may not last as long as other hard surfaces.
Pros:
-
Affordable alternative to hardwood
-
Easy DIY installation with click-lock systems
-
Scratch-resistant surface
-
Available in various realistic textures
Cons:
-
Not waterproof (though water-resistant versions exist)
-
Can be noisy underfoot without underlayment
-
Can’t be refinished if damaged

Flooring Buying Guide
How do I get a price?
Use our contact form to get in touch; let us know the size of the area and what flooring you want and we’ll give you a price!
What flooring can you install?
If it goes on the floor, we can install it! Carpet, laminate, luxury vinyl and engineered wood are our bread and butter.
What prep is needed for my new floor?
The room needs to be empty in order for us to install the floor. Other than that, we will sort out all the prep work – you’ll be kept in the loop every step of the way, so if there is screeding/boarding needing prior to the floor going down, you’ll know.
Do you offer payment plans?
We do not offer payment plans for our floors. We take a deposit; the rest of the figure is due once the floor has been installed.
What floor is right for me?
It entirely depends on the area and what you use it for. If it is a family room where people come to relax, a thick pile carpet is what we recommend. If it is an office or dining room, our range of engineered woods would bring those rooms to life.
What areas do you cover?
We are based in Cambridgeshire but are willing to travel for jobs.
